Art
The study of the senses in art is a focus at City Rand College. The skills of children are appreciated and fostered in a welcoming environment. The door is always open to individuals eager for more extracurricular activities, such as ceramics, recycled art, painting and drawing, batik, and crafts.
Line, Form, Space, Shape, Texture, Tone, and Color are explored in a variety of engaging projects throughout the school, including papier-mâché parrots, ceramic bookends, Picasso portraits, and printed books with illustrations by our Year 4 students, to name a few. Specialized methods like printmaking, batik, acrylic painting, metal embossing, and digital image creation are frequently utilized.
The kids are at the center of our creativity, displaying ambition is always in abundant, whether it be designs for the school play or creating fascinating displays throughout the school.
Dram
Drama is one of the best ways for people to express themselves. At City Rand College, our drama instruction naturally begins in the Early Years with learning through role play and later incorporates many aspects of theatre.
Students have a variety of opportunities during the school year to explore theater and public speaking, from presenting a production to succeeding in internationally recognized tests. Every student in the school participates in a yearly production, which ranges from the Grade R Nativity played on stage in our hall to the Year 5 and 6 production presented at City Rand College.
